This handcrafted outdoor fire pit is constructed entirely of 11 gauge Cor-Ten steel. Commonly called "weathering steel" it will develop a beautifully brown layer of rust when exposed to the weather.
The weathering rust actually performs as a protective coating providing greater resistance to corrosion compared to other steels. It will be almost fully rusted when it arrives but will take another 2-4 months to completely cure.
The fire pit is designed for wood burning but is also available in propane or natural gas styles for logs, lava rock or decorative glass (glass or lava rock not included).
The interior bowl for log burning is 14'' deep. The lava and glass styles have a 4'' deep bowl.
It is also available in a ''hidden tank'' version for lava rock or glass. The propane tank (not included) is placed through a door in the side of the pit.
A steel fire pit cover that lays over the pit opening is also available.
You will receive this item by truck delivery. The trucking company will call and schedule a time when someone will be present to accept the delivery. They will deliver the item curbside and you will be responsible for moving it into your home.
